“I look at Youth Off The Streets as home. It was a place when I had nowhere, where I knew I was going to be safe, belonged, cared for and supported no matter what.”

Fleeing a violent home at 12, Jamie-Lee* spent years moving between shelters, friends' floors and the streets. With the support of Youth Off The Streets, she went on to earn her HSC, buy her first home and build a career helping other young people.

“Your staff believed in me and gave me the confidence to build a better life for myself. I am now more positive with where my life is heading and I have a newfound confidence in myself.”

Kai* was just 11 years old when he first found himself sleeping rough, and by his early teens he was struggling with substance use and depression. Consistent outreach, accommodation and counselling from Youth Off The Streets gave him the stability to move into employment, continue his studies and find a place to call home.

Yes! It's completely free to register for Hike4Home. We want as many people as possible to get involved and show their support. While there’s no minimum fundraising target, every dollar you raise helps young people experiencing or at risk of homelessness access the support they need.

Do I have to walk a set distance?

add_circle_outline remove_circle_outline

No. Hike4Home is all about doing what you can. You might choose to challenge yourself with 50km, 100km or 150km across the campaign, or set a distance that feels right for you. Whether it’s a short walk close to home or a longer hike with friends, every step helps raise awareness and support for young people doing it tough.

Are there any age restrictions?

Hike4Home is open to everyone. You can take part on your own, with friends or as a family. If you’re under 18, you’ll need permission from a parent or guardian to register and take part.
