Cup of Kindness is about spreading compassion through coffee
On World Coffee Day, 1 October, we're inviting coffee lovers everywhere to rally behind and support children and young people experiencing or at risk of homelessness or complex disadvantage.
Last year, more than 40,000 young people experienced homelessness across Australia.
That's why this year we're aiming to raise $40,000 through Cup of Kindness Day, with every dollar helping young people access the safety, support and opportunities they deserve.
Whether you're grabbing your morning coffee, visiting a participating café or making a donation online, every act of kindness helps create brighter futures for young people in need. Together, we can keep the kindness flowing.
For coffee lovers
Supporting Cup of Kindness Day is easy. Visit one of our participating Kind Cafés, where a contribution from every coffee sold will help support the work of Youth Off The Streets. You can also make an additional donation in-store or online to help us reach our $40,000 fundraising goal.

Why Become a Kind Café?
Cup of Kindness Day is a simple and meaningful way to show your customers that you care about your local community while supporting vulnerable young people.
By becoming a Kind Café, you can choose to donate $1 from every coffee sold over a day, a few days or even a full week. Every contribution makes a difference!
Plus, complimentary coffee beans from Smith St. Coffee Roasters!
Smith St. Coffee Roasters will send participating cafés up to 3kg of complimentary coffee beans to support coffee sales for Cup of Kindness.*
As a participating café, you'll receive:
- Promotional posters and campaign materials
- Social media assets to help spread the word
- Fundraising tips and resources
- Listing on the Cup of Kindness Day website as a participating venue
You'll also join a growing community of cafés and coffee lovers united by a shared goal: helping young people build brighter futures.
Can't commit to donating from coffee sales? You can still get involved by displaying a donation QR code or promotional material at your counter and encouraging customers to support the campaign.

Help spread kindness
Kindness can be a lifeline for young people experiencing homelessness, offering not just warmth and dignity but a reminder that they are seen and valued.
The funds raised by your café will support Youth Off The Streets’ essential services for at-risk young people, including homelessness and housing services, counselling, education and training pathways, life skills programs, youth justice support, community outreach and more.
